Taking a serious look at a new to me 44 DA. The boat is a fresh water 480 Zeus boat - but with ONLY 37 hrs! That little use over that long a period of time bothers me. And I overthinking this or are there some serious concerns I should have given diesels like to be run?

I think you're over thinking it mate. As long as you get it thoroughly checked out and surveyed, you'll be fine. The fact that it's freshwater should alleviate a lot of concerns that would normally arise from saltwater. Hope it all works out for you!

Thank for the quick feedback.

Paparaazi - seeing as you have the same boat. What is your WOT? Best Cruise?

Hey mate, I used to have one yes. At WOT I got about 34/35 knots in saltwater. She guzzled about 180L an he at that rate. Best cruise mix between speed and comfort was about 104L at 25knots.

You might get even faster with less revs if you're in freshwater. Less current and drag (if it's not anti fouled?)

I had the exact same model. You love it! And at 37 hrs she's only just broken in!

Boatweiser, what's the price point if you don't mind me asking?

She is listed at 399k. Boattrader shows it in both KY and Cincinati. dark hull pretty well spec'd out...id be moving her to the salt if this works out.

Sorry I tried to update my signature and couldn't figure it out. The 43 DA was sold last year - somewhat of a mistake. My family used to boat in NH but bought a beach cottage in RI. No longer needing any real overnight accommodations, I thought it prudent to sell the 43/47 and downsize. Initially I looked into moving the 43/47 to RI but couldn't get a slip for her, it was expensive as hell to haul it and was going to be a PITA. So right now I have a 370ss Formula. Great boat but it turns out I'm the only one who really likes bouncing off waves at 45-50 mph!

Sooo... I still don't need a boat that big but this has always been my fav DA lines and 37 freshwater hours is hard to ignore! Plus with the 480s and Zeus she will get up and go. An as luck (good or bad?) would have it my marina called me with a bigger slip for next year.

I started by looking at 410s but they are out of sight price wise. Can pick up a 450 for the same money...

Boatwiser, I think i made an offer on your boat last year through Boatworks! Unless there are other 43 in NH! To be honest, my dock neighbor in LI had a 44DA Zues boat. He did have alot of issues with the pod drives. Most were software errors and i beleive one mechanical. He winded up selling the boat. I'd stay with a traditional Vdrive in this boat. She runs perfect. 2400 RPM and probably 27 knots if you like to run fast.

That was her.
Im a big fan of zeus but recognize the '08 is a first gen pod. If this gets serious Capt Rusty has offered to run the HIN and let me know if there have been any issues and what upgrades need to be done.
