Hello all! Just got back into Sea Ray boats. Had a 12' McClintoch, 21' Doral Tara, 268 Sundancer, 32' Wellcraft St Tropez, and now a 2001 Sea Ray 340 Amberjack with twin 8.1 Horizon's. Talk about two-foot-itis!

Lots of little things to do to make this boat just purrrrfect. Looking forward to getting some tips from CSR. From what I've seen, you have a great forum!!

Welcome to Club SeaRay and back to SeaRAy boats. You will want to put the boat info into your signature line, model, engines, drive system, year, that way when you do ask questions the info will be there for those that may be able to answer. Again welcome to CSR.

How's this... I'm still looking for a photo to add (was too busy/depressed with repairs from the time of delivery to fall haul-out to want to take many photos).

Thanks for the warm welcome though!

Welcome Jim.

Is the water hard in your neck of the woods already? We are starting to see thin ice on ponds and on some of the backwaters. Come on global warming....do your stuff.

That is perrrrrfect. You can always add the photo later.

Greetings all Also new to CSR but not no to boating. Currently have a SeaRay 370 DA (1996) and we just love her. Living in Ocean County, enjoy long weekend trips to AC and to Shelter Harbour (LBI). Meet up with us on the water.

It's been an unusually c-c-c-cold November this year and yes, in some places the water's getting that "hard" consistency! "Island Rhythm" is tucked away in indoor/heated storage (since I really had no time to put together a proper "winterization plan").

That "Lake Erie Boater" sure looks familiar - very nice!

I didn't have a good start with this boat last August.

Took delivery, piloted 2.5hrs home at cruising speed, only to find water pouring in via a "melted" starboard dripless shaft seal" once at our home port. Turned out that the cooling water hose was plugged with debris from the aluminum exhaust manifold thus overheating the seal in an extreme fashion! It even melted the plastic seal housing! Had to haul it out and r/r with another Tides seal unit.

Further inspection revealed a corrosion hole in the same exhaust manifold that supplied water to the seal. R/R all four manifolds just to be sure.

Once back in the water (now September), the Starboard Engine began to experience a drop in coolant - checked the heat exchanger and found that a couple of tubes had major leaks. Looked like improper winterization since any tubes affected were at the lowest point where water would be most likely to remain. It's now been repaired and tested by a local rad. shop.

This boat only has 275 hrs, runs great, and we love the layout and BEAM! I just hope that I get all the bugs out before next season is underway. Still a bunch of little things to take care of before then - good thing it's in heated storage!!

Thanks for the warm welcome all!
