Hi I am extremely new to boats. I purchased a 1976 Sea Ray SRV 220. I have been searching for an owners manual, but have had no luck. I am taking a boaters safety course to get educated. The question I have, is how do you get the stern drive/propellar to go vertical into the water. It is still in the trailer mode. Is there a switch on the dash, and does the engine need to be running to do this? Thank you

Mike

There is a switch on your throttle/gear lever. It is a momentary switch which goes two ways for up & down. It will not raise your outdrive all the way back up, for that you use the trailer switch. Engine does not need to be running.

Hehe... sounds lke you need to float her and just start pressing buttons and flipping switches.

Just do NOT press the red button.

Mike, is there anyone in your area that can help you? Maybe take you out for a lesson? How about the person/place you bought it from? As much as we can try to help you, we're only able to provide words. I think you would benefit greatly from some hands-on experience/guidance.

For basic operational stuff, go to Sea Ray's stuff and download any manual from a newer sportboat. It's better than nothing.
