New to boating at the Lake Of The Ozarks, MO

Just bought my first boat this summer with my sister and her husband. We are on the Lake of the Ozarks in Missouri, and for all practical purposes, are new to boating. Our boat is a 2002 Sea Ray Bowrider. We hope to have it in our slip in a couple of weeks! I'm looking forwarding to learning everything possible. This looks like a great forum with some very knowledgeable folks!

Welcome! Watch out for party cove if you have kids along. Lake O can be a difficult place for water sports due to all the over sized boats and idiots on the lake doing 80mph, so be carful and wear a PFD! We liked Truman over Lake O.

Welcome. I bought my boat from the lake and spent a long weekend on it. It's a great lake. Just wish it were closer to me.

Thank you everyone. My grandparents have always had a place on this lake, so I'm pretty familiar with the Ozarks. They moved out last summer into a retirement home and now my parents own it. So... now that we're not guests, it's time for us to really explore the Lake with something other than the Bayliner deck boat they had, which we weren't comfortable with taking out much on our own. So when I say I'm new to boating, that's pretty much true. I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions once we pick this boat up in a couple of weeks after buying a lift.

I'm freakin' pumped!
