We just took delivery of a 1983 360ac with twin Perkins Diesels. The hull and engines are in great shape. We've been boating for years with ski and wakeboard boats but now that the kids are grown we are ready to try something a bit different.

We are in the process of completely stripping and updating the interior. It was a mess! There was no furniture left, the PO had poorly installed Pergo on the floors and 3 types of carpet.

I've really enjoyed reading all of your posts here on Club SeaRay; a lot of smart and friendly people own classic Sea Rays! The Admiral has a great decorating eye and we are intending to update her maintaining a classic style but with a cleaner and more modern feel.

So far we've pulled the monkey fur (that just sounds really wrong if taken out of context ) and vinyl from the forward cabin. We've ordered new hull blanket for headliner in a light color and new vinyl for the walls and cabinets; should be here Friday and we are looking forward to starting to put her back together this weekend. All the home shows on TV everyone is so excited to do the demo - I'd rather put things together than to do demo!

In removing trim I notice that the woodwork used to be beautiful - not much of a finish with lots of natural wood grain showing. The paneling and trim appears to have darkened over the years. Any advise on how to easily restore the woodwork to it's original beauty? Is it Teak or Mahogany?

I tried to upload some images - regardless of the size of the image I get a message saying I've exceeded my quota by 35.4kb (I think that was the number. I'll get that figured out and get some pics posted.

Welcome aboard, where do you keep your boat? If you sponsor the site you have more picture uploading ability. There is a tab at the top of the page titled "support this site". Makes it much easier to navigate and keeps us rolling!

Hi Ken,

Thanks for the tip on supporting this great site! I just went and did so.

We have her berthed at the Sacramento Marina. I see you are in the Bay Area, where do you keep your boat?

Tim

My husband and I just pulled our Bayliner out of the Riverbank Marina in Sacramento. We also have a 1985 Sea Ray Sundancer 260 that we just purchased she is in storage and we our in the process of getting her ready to go in the Delta in the Spring. We were looking at B&W just to get our feet wet boating in the Delta next year and joining the Northern Sea Ray Club of California. We visited Oxbow and loved it but more than we wanted to spend but they were very nice and told us they had several sea ray owners. Our plan was to stay at B&W and then check out the marina's in the Deltathis summer and then maybe move elsewhere. We have never boated in the Delta and are looking fwd to getting away from it all. The Sacramento River and American River are just not relaxing anymore too many boats with Too much speaker wattage-I cannot believe how rude people are on the river, it's all about blasting your music, even up the American River where everybody goes to get away from it all. I hope the Delta is not like this. Dont get me wrong, lots of great people on the river but the bad apples ruin it for everyone.

NorCal boater, Do you know Les?? I know he has a boat at the Sacramento marina.

Current project: removed all teak and in the process of cleaning and oiling. Removed all seats top side and discovered we do not have to reupholster every thing just going to redye the tops of some seats that have a yellow sun burn. We are planning on redoing the control console.

Welcome Tim. When I joined, the group was very welcoming and quick to help/answer any questions (still are)! Lots of experience on this board, so you can't go wrong! We keep our boat at Oxbow marina. We often times will cruise to the Bay for a weekend and spend it at the Benicia harbor. Nice leisurely pace and let the kids and grandkids enjoy boating with their grandma and grandpa!

Bought our trawler in Oakley last year. Great place to boat.
Except when the invasive water hyacinth takes over! Look at this picture of Riverpoint Landing Marina in Stockton!

QUOTE] Well, if you need any information of the SRBCNC let me know, I am Commodore next year. You can click on the link on my signature to access our web page. Have you looked into Perry's which is right next to B&W marina? That's where we are and we have 9 SRBCNC boats together in the same shed. They treat us very well there...

Just did a search of Sacramento Delta on the forum and found this thread. I know it is old but I had to reply as I noticed some talk about Oxbow Marina. After 20 years of lake boating, 5 ski boats and 2 houseboats, my wife and I just purchased a 2000 340 Sundanced and have her berthed at Oxbox. Just wanted to say, Hello to those on this post that are part of the wonderful Delta boating lifestyle!!
