I recently picked up an '88 Sorrento S-21 for a price I couldn't refuse(all but free). It needs a new motor and some flooring on the starboard side near the hatch, as well as some vinyl and wood refinishing. Transom seems good as do the engine mounts. I'm hoping the stringers are ok too(any insight here would be greatly appreciated). She's all there and I know it will be a fun boat. I was debating making a quick buck when I realized it needed a motor, but I've kinda fallen for her lol. It's been under a tarp since the previous owner found coffee milk for oil when winter using her about 4 years ago.
I'm a motor head will grew up drag racing and I have a number of high performance builds under my belt. I was a finish carpenter for about 6 years, but I know zero about fiberglass... So I'm a little intimidated. I grew up on the bay and spent a large amount of time on boats mostly fishing, but this will be my first boat in the water(had a Chris Craft Scorpion once, built a big bad motor but sold it before I even floated it.) It's a closed bow (are they lower production then open?) and I'm told it'll do 50mph:grin:
