New refrigerator for 1994 500DA

Looking to replace the 12 cu ft GE 120v only fridge on our new to us 500DA. We want to put in a AC/DC fridge. We spend a lot of weekends, and also weekdays, on the hook and I don't want to have to run the genset other than to top batteries off periodically. The outer dimensions of the existing unit is 60" tall x 24" wide. Beyond this size, there isn't much room to enlarge the opening. Vitrifrigo makes a nice unit with 2 drawers in the bottom, for a total of 12 cu ft, BUT, its 67" tall and 26" wide. Haven't found anything from NorCold that is both 12 or 24VDC and 120V operation. Isotherm has a few potential options, but all smaller than 12 cu ft.


Has anyone on here come up with a different/better option?

If the fridge works why not add a inverter to make 110 to run it off a house battery and add a solar panel for charging or get a goal zero solar generator to power it while at anchor?

After doing a lot of research on various 12v/120V fridges, I decided to put an inverter in. Granted, the upfront cost is more than swapping fridges, but I'll also gain 120V power without having to always run the generator, and also keep the larger fridge.
