Closed today on our 270! Love this boat. Coming from a 310 we sold in 2010. The 270 seems like its the same size. Never thought of looking at a 270 until I was on this one.

Pics to come.

Congrats,Is she in the water and ready to cruise?

In a lake, moving it to another lake tomorrow where my slip is. Should be ready to go, but expecting a few things I'm sure.

All set! Moved her yesterday!!! We are having our renaming ceremony on July 4th!

Those 270's are sweet boats that offer a lot of room for their size. I fell in love with them when they were new, and years later was looking for one when I came across a good deal on my 300. Glad I got the 300 because of the slightly wider beam, Factory AC/Heat, and Dinette, but I would have been real happy with a nice 270 and the full Vee Berth instead of the slanted one in the 300. The extra storage space in the closet I have is OK, but I would rather have had the berth go full side to side instead. They did it on the 270, and had a nice forward berth on the 340, but for some reason they gave the longer, but narrower, berth to the 300. Makes it a little tough for two adults. My wife and I use the aft berth for that reason.
As much as I like the Dinette on mine for dinner with the wife and kids, the couch on the 270 is real nice and IMHO opens up the cabin. That's a tough choice.

Thats our boat with minor differences between 1987 & 1984. You will love it! If you have any questions happy to help....long live classic 270's

Nice boat. I'm pretty sure that is our next move.....

Thanks everyone for the kind comments.

@Crave... Seems I do have to finesse going into reverse or get the infamous stalling issue. If i ease in, seems to be ok. However, any experience with this via adjustments or do I need to fully replace the lower shift cable and or switch? (Ill save that for the fall if so for pulling the drives.

Also, The boat does not have Air Cond, but i do have an Air Cond switch in the box below..... common? or maybe I did have it at one time (would be nice if I did as I could resurrect it.) I didn't notice any extra through hulls though. The boat was gutted by the PO at some point, but could have been stripped out i guess. Definitely no compressor or anything on board.

And lastly, I need to find some of the hatch latches, got a leak or two because the bow deck hatches don't latch because on or all have broken of. Any ides where to get them?

Thanks! Love the boat!

Yeah, would hate to try to squeeze twin V6's in a 268! The 270 is so much more boat. That being said, I have always loved the 268's. Great styling and performance along with a ton of room.

Not sure what box you mean, but are you sure you are not looking at the AC (as in Alternating Current) convertor switch?

The 268's of that vintage have a narrower beam.

If there is actually a switch there then there was probably one on the boat at some point. Are there discharge vents in the cabin?
If there is no switch there then it is probably just a generic panel that Sea Ray installed in all of the boats. If you went with the AC option, there was a place in the panel for the breaker.
If there is a switch, but no AC vents, then it's possible that it was a generic panel, but somewhere along the line someone decided to use that space in the panel for something else and the switch that is there controlled that something else.
That's a problem with older boats. Sometimes it takes a while to figure who did what kind of modifications with them over the years.
To this day I have a toggle switch mounted in my cabin with a green indicator light that goes on when I flip it up. I've narrowed it down to being a 12 volt item, but this is my 7th season and I still haven't figured out what it controls. Tracing the wire would involve removing an AC vent and taking apart a hanging locker that is just inside the cabin. Not something I look forward to doing if nothing is broke.

I do have another question. Where is the hydrolic trim reservoir? Mounted on the riser?
