new/old boat

I am new here, so i thought i would say, WHAT'S UP!!!

I have a new/old Searay a 1975 SRV 190, I am told it has a 302 ford in it but not sure. May be some one on here can enlighten me and give me some info that i don't know.

If the distributor is up front (forward of the carb) it's a ford. This distributor of a Chevy engine will be located behind the carb. Also have a look at the outdrive. In the unlikely event that the decal is still in place, it would say 888. This was Merc's designation for a 302 2v, 188 horsepower. Also have a look at the valve covers. The spec. label may still be there listing the WOT range, cubic inch displacement, timing specs. and etc.
