Just a quick fyi:
Mercuiser has announced the new series of VesselView screens. In short it looks like a combination of VesselView and MercMonitor with touch interface. There are two versions - 4" and 7" - where the 7" can act as a chartplotter - AND talk to accessories from Simrad/Lowrance like Radar and Sounder.
I have written a bit more here: http://www.marine-review.com/2013/02/news/mercury-introduces-vesselview-4-and-vesselview-7/
And the press release is here: http://www.mercurymarine.com/news-a...y-marine-unveils-two-new-vesselview-engine-d/
Right now I am thinking changing to Simrad/Lowrance on my boat was the right decision
My new panel layout is below - the Helm "plastic" is a bastard version - until I get a new one made. Had to glue in pieces to make it "complete" until I am happy with the layout. So sorry for the " ugly " helm faux wood.
