We took possession of a 1996 440 Express bridge on 2 Sept. We have 11 hours of steaming in the last 3 weekends. It has been breezy on Great Peconic Bay but the Engines and the vessel have been great! We have had some fits and starts in that initially we couldn't get fuel into the port tank; that's solved. the Northstar 625 GPS worked on our sea trial but now cannot find its own location. Working on the RADAR and we have bulbs out in various places on the boat. Looking for some advice re: the windless/anchor chain/line setup. We anchored out first night and slept on the bay. Upon weighing anchor in the morning we found that the chain /line connection wouldn't go back into the chain locker without some pretty heroic effort. looks like the line is spliced into the chain via end splice. never saw that before. the end splice is a bit worn and of a larger diameter than
it should be and does not easily fit in the opening. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance
