Hello to all. I purchased my craft last April in Palm Coast, FL and drug her to Charleston to live while I continue to live in N. Augusta. I have a daughter living in Charleston and go there often.
Never owned a boat before this one so the last season has been a learning experiance for me. Love the boat, it has a new motor and runs great. I am going to pull the switch and instrament panels out this weekend and do a rewire job. Previous owner made a lot of changes and now I have a ball of speggetti under the dash with a lot of it put together with home speaker wire just twisted together.
Anyway looking forward to being on this site!

Welcome Aboard we are glad to have you here

Hey captainH - We live in Charleston and keep our boat in dry storage up the Ashley River. Hope to catch up with you sometime on the water.

Jim

Hello Jim,
My boat is in dry stack at Dolfin Cove. Not sure if I want to try going somewhere else or not. I enjoy the scenery cruising the Ashley.
Thanks,
Harold

Welcome aboard. We visit the Charleston area annually, vacation in Kiawah. Great area.

Sorry but I am not up on Kiawah area itself. I had plans to go this past summer but didn't work out. I know there are a lot of choices in Charleston which is in easy reach. I am sure some of the other members can help.

Bohicket Marina is 5 minutes from Kiawah. Full service, shops, good restaurants. Just off the ICW, near the Edisto, great boating area.

Mrsrobinson...I was meaning a home or villa on Kiawah where we could take our boat and be close to a slip.I am sure they would make you store the trailer somewhere.

I have never seen a boat on the island and, to my knowledge, there is no boat access on the island. I could be wrong though.

Correct, there are no boat slips on the island. There is a boat ramp and day docks on the Kiawah river, in the private Vanderhost area. I am thinking only open to home owners, but perhaps you can gain access as a renter.

Ah, I don't envy a wiring job - but done right, I'm sure you'll appreciate the added reliability and safety you'll have after the spaghetti is gone.

Welcome, and best of luck!

Sweet Dreams

I am at Bohicket Marina and I like it alot

VEry reasonable rates and excellent floating docks except for the black rub rails and no cable TV

The tide comes in and goes out at 5 knots and has about a 6 foot swing.

2 miles from the NOrthEdisto, about 5nm from the sea buoy and a 1 hour 15min run to Charleston via the ICW.

Great restaurants there and nice little shopping village very close by at Freshfields.

I forget the name of the restaurant, Red Sky maybe, but it's close, food is awesome, I play tennis with one of the owners when we visit.

Bohicket is a nice marain. Like unklbuck said it's surrounded by cool shops, which makes the mrs happy.

Every time we have visited the marina there is nobody there. Kind of quiety. Oh, if I recall correctly they have a dry stack/forklift set up too.
