Good afternoon all,

Just joined club Sea Ray yesterday. What a great site! I think I was able to download a picture of my 300 when I set up my account, but not sure. I look forward to adding pictures and seeing everyone else's boats. Now if only the river would go back below flood stage...

Cheers!

Bryan

Welcome. We truck the boat to Cincinnati every few years......good times on the river.

Thanks Quint. Great looking 290! Did the extended platform come from swimplatforms.com? Great addition to the boat!

Yes...swimplatforms.com. Our boat is now featured on their homepage. Great company to deal with.

Welcome aboard

Glad you found the forum, Bryan. You're in good company.

I've been thinking about buying my old SR 280 back, we just need our friend George to get busy and move my Silverton. It's part of a bigger plan...

Capt Eric,

Good to see you here! Is your old Sea Ray in Admiral's Anchor? That one also has an extended platform from swimplatforms.com. Makes a great addition. Have to say, I do like your Silverton though!

BTW, thank you for passing my info on to Bobby about his Carver. Was able to help him. I appreciate it!

Welcome, Bryan! I grew up in Louisville. (I graduated from PRP in 1994. I left Louisville and went to UK for two years and then on to the Navy.) I always heard horror stories about the Ohio River. Now that I am older, I am sure that I would boat (not swim, necessarily) around Louisville. Have you been in Louisville for long?

Born and raised in Louisville. I grew up on the river. My parents had houseboats starting in 1965 when my mom was pregnant with me and I have been swimming and boating on the river ever since. Truthfully, the river is much cleaner than it was when I was little. The key is to know where to go. Obviously I would never get in the water around downtown Louisville but upriver past 6 mile island all the way up in to Oldham county is really nice. Our kids swim and tube and ski in it all summer. We obviously love going to lakes and my wife and I lived and boated in the Gulf coast of Florida but I have no problem with the river at all. You would be surprised just how nice it is and how good the boating is right here at home.
