Recently purchased our first Sea Ray, a 2004 260 DA homeported in Pawcatuck, CT. Our shake down cruise was from Deep River to Pawcatuck. No buyer remorse and looking forward to next years adventures on the water.

Welcome to CSR Pat!! Best of luck with your new toy! Post up a pic of your new vessel when you get a chance!

welcome - we'll be in mystic next year - hope to see you in block or napatree - whats your boats name? pics?

We had a 2005 260 DA first boat we ever had with AC and Heat. Great boat a tad underpowered IMO but we got the radar arch option with ours as well.

Welcome! We loved our 260DA while we had her - she was a great boat. Lots of good info here on the site.

Congrats!
Your boat went opposite of ours. From talking to people on our dock, found out our boats first owner kept her in the Pawcatuck River...she's been at Deep River for the past 3 owners. Brewers (Safe Harbor now).

I was born and raised in Stonington, and spent first 1/2 of my life there out at Sandy Point and Napatree Point all the time. For about 25 years..pretty much out there 2-3 days a week in season. Still frequently go out there. Used to live on Quiambaug Cove in Stonington for a while.
Had a best friend on River Rd in Pawcatuck when I was in school. Was just at Stonington High School for a football game last week.
The "folly"...(leaning pyramid structure east end of Sandy Point)...is where I injured my lower back in my 20's.

Thanks Kevin! I've been lurking around for awhile and this forum is packed with a lot of info. Still trying to figure out how the board works, but that's coming around.

Small world! My wife is a Pawcatuck native and this has been our home for the last 35 years. Great boating area, we are up the river at Norwest and usually hang out at Sandy Point near the "folly". We've owned several boats over the years but this will be our first experience at some overnight cruising. Looking forward to it.

Pat, where did your buy her? Was she at Brewers? Through their broker John U.? If so wondering how many times I walked past her on evening strolls up 'n down the docks over the summer. Wondering if your wife 'n I were in school together waaay back then (Deans Mill School, but then separate Junior High Schools and I went to St Bernards not Stonington High).

This boat originally came from Lake Champlain and was at Brewer's only this summer; E or F Dock. The previous owner trailered it down from Vermont then decided he wanted a larger boat and I bought it from him, private sale. We are part of the shrinking Silent Generation, Maureen graduated from Stonington in 1962. She went to St. Michaels, then Pawcatuck middle.

Gotcha...E or F docks in the main area, out in front of the gazebo. Walked down there a few times. Enjoyed walking to the end of the dock at the entrance of "the basin"...so peaceful there to see at the end and look out at the marsh. I'm up at B dock..in the north yard.
Near your dock, Conners and O'Brien marina...either the owner, or a manager there, someone with bucks, built a big house by the water a few blocks from where I live in Waterford. I see the company truck in the driveway all the time.
Our boats names are similar in an opposite direction manner too..."Me-Shell" for me, and I see you put "Shellback" in your signature.
Congrats...and this forum is a great technical resource....lots of helpful people here with a wealth of knowledge.

welcome Pat! we love our 260!
