New life jacket policy at Mississippi Lakes

I agree that this is one more example of our government trying to mandate responsibility but will result in hurting the lifestyle of boating. These four lakes are used primarily for fishing and for very small saiboats (sunfish,etc.) and I doubt if there is any boat used on them that is over 23'. I keep my boat on Pickwick Lake. Pickwick is a large lake that is bordered by Mississippi, but also by Tennessee and Alabama. It is regulated by all three states, but interestingly is not included in this new regulation. Therefore, it appears to me that this regulation is focused primarily on fishing boats but will also hurt ski boats.

Agreed. Thankfully this is not being regulated at Pickwick. I may see you around at Pickwick. This is my lake of choice as well. Good to see another local on the board.
