a friend bought some LED cabin back lighting for his 40' Motor Yacht which gave me the idea to do this.

All LED's and the Controller were installed by me, having a electronics experience i very helpful in knowing limits of components..

these LEDs and controller were all obtained for less than $75 shipped.. there are literally about 30 modes on the lighting..
everything from a solid color. to a slow transition between 8 colors... there are several music modes this is one everyone seems to like best..

instead of replacing all the overhead bulbs at $100 each..
this works a 100x better, and i can make ANY color i want as bright as i want,
unfortunately for "dance mode" you cant control the brightness.

this is just a short video..

I just bought 4 of the color changing lights for up top but did not install them yet. Was going to install today. Way to funny that you posted this, this morning. Did you just go around the whole hardtop? How does it look when they are not on?

yes i went around the entire hard top with 4 strings.. all cut down a few feet..
basically i followed the zipper line where it bevels up to the zippers .. hiding most of them. . i did go up the pillars on both sides as well..
if you look in my signature you can see them going up

the load on the system controller is close to maxed out.. i will be doing the cabin area next with another system for accent lighting..

Yikes! That would cause seizures! Both the lights and the music lol!

Am looking at installing these on my 270 SLX. Are you still happy with them? Had any issues with them?

yes, very happy with them,
the music mode is extreme..

most times i have it set to a very slow color transition or in a solid very dim red for night driving..

only issue i have had.. is the remote.. when i first put them in i could change everything from 30' away while on the dock..
i haven't used the lighting since she is wrapped up even thought i have been on it several times..

about 2 weeks before she was put away for the winter i starting having issues with the remote only working really close to the receiver,
which "may" be a battery issue on the remote..

I've used those strips here and there around the house. They're great rear-facing behind a wall mounted TV.

For what it's worth, this is what I used

Also, fantastic demo tune. That's in a few of my playlists for times when my dock is populated by the, uh, younger crowd.

How well did they stick to the surfaces in the cockpit?
I installed some LED strip lighting around the cockpit of my previous boat. Those were smaller slips that fit in to a plastic channel that attached with double sided tape. The channels were also drilled for attachment with small stainless screws. The cockpit on that 300 Sundancer was small enough with enough straight runs that the short sections worked well for accent lighting.
I want to use continuous 12 volt strings on my 410. One long one to go under the U shaped cockpit seat and another under the counter that runs along the port side of the cockpit.
I don't want to use screws in either place and was hoping to get flexible LED strings that will stick in place on their own. I don't want to synchronize them with music and would prefer just a solid blue color.
Any suggestions or recommendations for a brand and source?

You may not want to do this on your arch, but I put some LED's under the cockpit seats and although they had sticky backs and I had no issues with them falling down, I put a very small drop of super glue every 2' or so. They have been there over 2 years and no issues at all.

dont get skimpy with it..
buy a bunch and use a lot of them.. i used one for about every 3-4' except on the first string which i used one for 10'..
only had one string fall down it was the first string that i was a little tight with the adhesion promoter, and pulled the string tight around a bend..
another string on the other side with same bend stayed up with no issues..
