New Helm setup on my 2008 310 :)

My Dash varies from your as I have the 08 330, not the 310 but I will have to have to have slightly wider panels made from Technographic. As for the VHF, I too am leaning towards the RS90 due to the blackbox with external speaker. I have to fill the hole where the previous external speaker was. For sonar, I’m still doing my research. I don’t fish off this boat and actually rarely use sonar at all but I like the idea of having structure scan. The majority of the waters I boat in are under 150’ in depth so I don’t need the deep water equipment. Any recommendations for transducer? What do I do with the transducers already installed that provide depth and temp to SmartCraft? Which Autopilot do I buy. I’ve never had one so I’m not too familiar with the various options. For the time being, I don’t plan to install a separate autopilot screen. I can use the VV7 or split the NSS12. Or even use the ipad. Once I use it for a season, I may add dedicated displays for specific uses but I want to use it before I do that.

Get TC to make a panel for the new speaker as well :) That little square is not going to cost much more I think.

Autopilot - well to use the Simrad built in controller - you need a Simrad Autopilot with control box. But you don't need extra display as you rightly say.

But you CAN NOT use iPad to remote control the Autopilot. That is one of the only things that are disabled for safety concerns.

Structure is nice - but on a big boat you really need thru-hull - and then you need the dual kit. Transom mount is not super with big twin stern drives.

Since most is in 150' then I would chose a Chirp HI thru hull transducer. Either Wide or Normal. Wide would probably serve you best unless you are only interested in depth right where you are. (25 Deg cone on wide - 6-12 deg cone on normal as far as I remember) - so smaller cone covers smaller area but gives better idea of bottom composition.

And push a HDMI cable through to your TV if your TV has HDMI input. Then your guests in the cabin can see a mirror of your NSS12 ;)
