Hi,

our old porta potti with deck fitting (to ease emptying) needs to be replaced because it's started to fall apart.

Even though I'd prefer a vaccuflush retrofit - the money involved for such system here in Sweden is just too high.

I'm therefore aiming to use a Dometic 7120 (freshwater head) which use around 1.2L/flush.
Add a holding tank which also involves placing a hose between the head and holding tank. And here it starts to become tricky.:smt100

After being in the boat today trying to measure tank size etc. I realized that there's an area between the engineroom and WC-room that I probably can reach by removing panels in the mid-cabin, does anyone know if that's true and perhaps have some pictures of that area?
It's still quite cold being at the boat this time of year so any information would be helpful in order to prepare for next session.

I also hope that midcabin area gives me access to the deck fitting - because that hose needs to be replaced and rerouted.

BTW! Does anyone know how to correctly seal of the hose that goes through to the engine room, in order to prevent fumes etc to transport back into the cabin?

Regards
Anders

can't help you with the other questions but if you use the proper 'sanitation grade' hose such as used by vacuflush the odor should not permeate through the hose....you can also use a waste digester such as 'Noflex' to keep the waste liquified and prevent odor from developing in the first place....i have just started using Noflex myself...i have read many reviews and they are all positive about the effectiveness of Noflex....

What is "WC-room"?

I'm pretty sure the only thing you can really access through the mid-cabin floor is your gas tank (center section of the midcabin floor). While I've never removed the outboard sections (heck, I don't know if they're simply screwed down or glassed down), it's probably floatation.

There really isn't any extra room on the boat or any "hidden" areas that you can access. The aft wall in the midcabin is the forward wall in the engine room. However, a holding tank was an option on your boat so, in theory, it's doable to add a holding tank in the bilge. The question is, though, what space you have available and whether or not existing things will need to be moved. In other words, depending on the options originally spec'd by the ordering dealer, with many boats the locations of the items down there will be installed in different spots.

As far as sealing the area where your waste hose will penetrate the forward wall of the engine room, you can just use silicone sealant and goop it up real good.

In regards to accessing the deck plate... Does your boat have a little storage cubby by the driver's ankles? You can try removing that to see if that helps. The walls of the midcabin are definitely removable, but depending on model, to remove a certain piece you sometimes have to remove all of the other pieces, first. And sometimes to remove those pieces, you have to disassemble the cabin ceiling. HOWEVER, on some models, there is a separate, removable panel on the starboard side of the midcabin as that is an area sometimes used for the AC/Heat motor. Although, I don't think AC was an option on your model. If you get stuck, take some pictures and post them.
