Hey....I'm excited to soon be taking delivery of a 1997 280 BR. My first SR boat. Having it shipped from Fl to Rochester, NY. I'd love to hear from anyone who also owns this model boat and has input into winterization/prep for shipping to frigid northern NY. Thank you.

Welcome aboard. Remember to update your signature.

What type of options/engine(s) did you get on the boat?

The boat has twin 350 Mags new in 2003. They have approx 175 hrs. My hope is that with this size and power it will make a super Great Lakes boat. I don't think it has any additional upgrades or options. I see the boat in person for the first time in a week from now. If you're familiar with this model boat I'd appreciate any insights you may have. Thanks.

Welcome..that is one heck of a bow rider !...enjoy.

Don't have a lot of info on the 280BR, but I've been looking at 280SS and 290SS for sometime now. The 280SS and BR are based on the same hull, engine setup etc. One sweet boat IMHO. We've got a couple 280SS owners on the board. I'm sure they will chime in if you have some questions.

Welcome to the site. I just bought a 2000 280 SS with twin 350 mags, but haven't used it yet, so I can't be much help. I think you inquired about my Sundeck a couple of months ago. Glad you found this site, you will get some great info here.

Hi mike , I bought one of these a year and half ago. Its great I lucked up the sole owner was religous with maintance. Probuly the only reason I bought this one was of the twin 350 mag and the corsa exhaust.. I have had a couple little issues , but thats boating!! The first thing I would do--Look at the power steering pump pulleys , mercriuser used a composite pulley back then, I was told the day after july the 4th , "wow you still have those, most of those had been changed" yep The starboard pulley blew apart , and the port pump is just for show. Thats the wonderful thing with twins , your going to get home!
