Hello everyone! Nice to join you here. I found other members here to be very helpful and hope I will contribute something in near future when I get the knowledge and experience.

I am from UAE, a country in the Persian Gulf and I just ordered 240da from Searay and waiting to get it this December.

I plan to use the boat with my family (wife and 4 kids) to spend some time on beaches and nearby islands.

I lived more than 6 years of my life in the US and got my Engineering degree in 1995 from University of the pacific in Stockton, CA.

Thank you wish2fish, I also like to fish but I do spearfishing. Gas is $1.50 - $1.70 per gallon. Diesel is more expensive about $2 in my city (Abu Dhabi) and $5 elsewhere, so you would see 10's of trucks in line waiting for hours to fill Diesel in my city. That makes Deisel Engines less popular.

Welcome, make sure you go the boat show this year , it's one of the flashiest and biggest there is in your area. Man I wish gas was that cheap here.

But there will be another boat show in my city, Abu Dhabi, end of Nov and the Searay dealer here asked me to use my boat during the show. I told him OK as long as it arrives before the show and whispered to myself "...and the weather is not great." :smt001

I was in Abu Dhabi three years ago in August and would have loved to have been out on a boat to beat the heat! I can just imagine you running along in that pretty blue water. I remember looking at the boats in the marina by the large shopping mall.

Welcome New Guy from UAE! What a fantastic place to have a Sundancer. When I visited Abu Dhabai and Dubai I couldn't believe how great the Gulf waters were, especially at night, and it would be fantastic to cruise the coast and the islands. Much better cruising than Stockton for sure. You realize of course that at CSR you have to have an open invitation for everyone to come try out your new Sea Ray with you!

Thanks Walz for your comments. That marina you mentioned by the Marina Mall is where the boat show will be held in Nov. Next time you are in Abu Dhabi just let me now and I will sure take you boating around the islands of Abu Dhabi.

When I was in Stockton I bought a used Bayliner and after cruising twice on the river I found nothing interesting and left it for a year on the marina and sold it to someone who promised to pay me in few days until I graduated and left the US and never got a penny :smt009
