Congrats on the new addition.
You know... I hear the Poodle/Golden Retriever and Poodle/Labrador Retriever mixes are great dogs... but... I just couldn't do it. When our huskies died, my wife wanted to get a Golden Doodle but I put my foot down and said no way... We got real Golden Retrievers (stupid ones at that).
The problem I have is the whole "branding" thing. I just could not have a dog that was a "Golden Doodle". What do you tell people at work? And as soon as some good looking chick comes up and pets your puppy and asks what kind of dog it is, she'll walk away laughing... They needed to name these dogs something else... anything else... "Me and the guys are going to take our Golden Doodles out for a walk". "Ohh.. Your Golden Doodle is much bigger than my Doodle". "I have to put a 6 foot leash on my Golden Doodle." "I keep my Golden Doodle chained to a tree in the back yard." "Wanna pet my Golden Doodle?" "My Golden Doodle likes to be rubbed right behind it's head." etc. etc...

I had to put down my Boxer in October 2006 nad it was not easy. I am yet to replace her but I am looking for another purebred Boxer for possibly a December arrival. In my research I came across another boutique mutt called a Boxerdoodle. I'm hoping to find a Schnauzer-doodle since that sounds alot like trouser noodle but have had no such luck to date..

I have a beaglador (lab & beagle) I don't recommend this. She can find and retrieve anything dead within a mile. One time I took her out fishing and she brought back a deer head.

About 3 weeks ago I brought home our newest edition... a Chihauha mix. Smart little thing, just hope I don't squish it by stepping on it.
Congrats on the new addition! We have a 2 year old Labradoodle, jet black. She is the best dog I have ever owned. Great family dog, smart, interactive and easy to train. Good luck with the new doodle.

I have to agree with Gary. I prefer to take my Golden Retriever straight and unadulterated. It's is a nice looking pup, however.

Boats are cool because the humans are trapped and can't get very far away from you. No matter what you do on a boat, they think its cool. Word of caution though, find a way to tell them you really gotta go and when you're thirsty. They sometimes don't take you seriously. Be safe and stay in touch.

'doodles generally are very cute dogs but tend to be pretty hyper and energetic. much more so than a "basic" retriever or labrador.

We have a smaller model of the boutique mutt.....half bishon - half poodle. The identity crisis is wether we call her a pooh-shon or a bi-doodle....I just call her a great little dog...except she cost 40 bucks a month to get a hair cut....I haven't spent $40 in a barber shop in the last 20 years.....

Boxers are such good dogs. I just spent the weekend nursing my boxer back to health from a bacterial infection. Missed out on a great day on the water, but that was a no brainer.
