Hello,
Jim here. I'm in the process of buying a 2000 Sundancer 290. Very excited and looking forward to the purchase. We're getting the boat from the Port Charlotte area of Florida and plan on basing the boat in Ruskin. She has 2 x 5.0 Merc cruisers, full camper enclosure (needs repair) has 5kw generator and is in great shape. Just got the offer accepted by owner and hope to get a sea trail done in the next week.

Can't wait.
Jim

Congrats! A good surveyor will be your best friend!

Congratulations and welcome to the 290 band. Great boat. I'm enjoying every minute of it .......... so far :)

Ok, just had the survey and sea trial completed Friday. Everything looks good so far, a few items to be done from a maintenance perspective with the outdrives. Once I get the survey on Monday we can close the deal. Can't wait!

Update, post survey found out the boat is a 1999 and other than some work on the outdrives, cleaning and repainting the drives the boat looks good.

Jim, The boat I owned when I first joined CSR was a 1999, 290 Sundancer. The broker who handled the sale was in Bradenton and I was told that the buyer lived further south. I would love to see a few pictures. It might be my old boat. I loved the 290, it is a great boat, but the Admiral wanted a bigger boat.

I think the only difference between 1999 and 2000 was the striping. It had the leading edge stripe like my 185 as did most 1998/1999 modes and then just the boot stripe starting in 2000.

The current seller was living in Punta Gorda and just moved back to Switzerland and we are waiting for some repairs to the AC and generator before we close. One item we noticed that stand out on this boat is the sliding door to the cabin below looks like it has repaired damage since it has strange patch on it. The boat is currently called Sunny III cockpit.jpg

That door is strange, I would want the story on that, replacing those doors is a major repair. Also noticed the steering wheel is not original and the port lounge has been re-upholstered.
