After a bit of debate with myself... I decided to not reinstall the exhaust I had pulled to inspect. All of the parts had flaky rust pieces in them and one of the manifolds was starting to thin out visibily where I was afraid water might get into the engine. Just not worth it to take the risk when my local Napa was able to get me a great deal on OEM manifolds and risers from Quicksilver. Came with new gaskets, hose connections for the manifolds and now I'm just waiting on new bolts to arrive tomorrow so I can complete the installation.
My question is on torque: The exhaust manifolds appear to have a 22ft/lb torque setting - but I've also seen 22ft/lb on the inner bolts and 20ft/lb on the outer 2 bolts. The riser bolts to the manifold should be 33 ft/lbs - although Seloc shows 25 ft/lbs. And is there a specific pattern to the bolts in order to get the correct seal? Also - typically with car exhaust (and other pieces) I'd do a re-torque after a heat cycle or two - any recommendations on how often to check this beyond the install and then the first time?
