Glad I stumbled across this site. Lots of good people and good information. Just got my Dancer launched yesterday and into it's new home on Lake Ouachita. First time it has been splashed in almost 3 years. After a month of tinkering, cleaning and checking every system I thought all was good - WRONG!!. Won't go into details here, but will hopefully have all the bugs worked out shortly and start enjoying the lake!

Glad you finally made it. We've sorta been waiting.

Congrats and welcome. Sorry about the bugs. I got the same boat but with 5.7L. Love it. Let us know what your bugs are and we'll try to help.

I left the boat tethered to the trailer and afloat to check things out before heading to the slip. Nothing worse than an UH-OH moment in tight quarters. First off the drive didn't want to go down, never a problem before. Played with it a little and down she went. Solenoid issue- no biggy. Second (maybe a biggy) stalled every time I put her in reverse. Long story short, I managed to get her to back up and made my way to the slip where dhe once again stalled when shifted. Luckily I was lined up well enough with the slip to hop off and pull her in. Going down to the marina today to assess the situation. Hopefully a little adjusting will be the cure, or out she comes again to get a new shift cable.

Welcome to CSR.

Forgot to mention, the anchor windlass also stopped working. All the items I mentioned were working perfectly an hour earlier on the trailer. Maybe she just went into shock when I splashed her. She's never been in fresh water before.

Welcome.......

I'm thinking maybe a moderator should transfer this into the "Classic Sea Ray" section because.....THE PLOT THICKENS !!!

OK. Went to the marina yesterday to see about getting the bugs out of her and ended up letting a BIG bug in! First thing was to check the bilge for water and make sure she is still leak free - all good there. Got out and noticed that the drive was still trimmed up a bit so I dropped it down and straightened up the wheel so I wouldn't bonk the dock next time out. Back to the engine compartment I go. Now I hear water running, a steady drip coming off the shift cable. NOT GOOD. Figure I'll put the drive back to where it was and stop the drip so I can make the 2 hour round trip to get my trailer. Wrong again. Now I have a steady stream coming in and getting worse. Called a local mechanic who luckily had a big enough trailer available and he was there within the hour and pulled her. So this week she gets all new bellows, shift cable and anything else that looks even remotely questionable.

Welcome aboard

Welcome to CSR!! Not sure if this is your first boat or not (It doesn't sound like it) but, this is the boating life!! Everything seems ok then WHAM!!! Break Out Another Thousand !!! Good luck with getting her right!

Thanks, I have my fingers crossed. And no, not my first boat by a long shot just my first Sea Ray. I've had her for almost ten years now. I normally do all the work myself, but I'm just getting too old for that anymore. I'll leave that to the pros.

Welcome to CSR.....there is another member on your lake....Tawcat is his screen name.

She's finally back in the water as of yesterday afternoon. Heading to the marina this morning for her first "fresh water" shake down cruise. A few electrical gremlins to chase down first. The windlass mysteriously started working again and the trim goes down but not up all of the sudden, hmmm....(thought I disconnected that pesky limit switch years ago). Anyhow, hope thats all the drama for now. Just want to get on the water and enjoy.
