So I put the new cockpit carpet down today to see how my template worked out and I really like the material it's from Corinthian called aquamat and has a soft backing. Another member here has it on her boat and we loved the look. I think it looks much nicer than the traditional Berber.

Looks great! Im looking at a small pic on my phone...is the carpet a grass or sissel look? We saw some at the boat shows this year on Cobalts and Cruisers Yachts. Very nice look.

Looks great, and a fine job on the templates. We went with the Corinthian "Desert Sand" on ours.

Agree with all comments. Looks fantastic and your templates look spot on.

Thanks for the kind words, and FYI: Corinthian gives a 10% discount if you mention CSR.

Looks fantastic! I tried to get the same material, different color (Hawthorne) for my 340 but they told me they couldn't do it because my carpet size and 6ft roll size of the material are not compatible.

They offered mine in a 10' roll but I only needed a bit over 6' at the stairs on both sides of my cockpit and they said they would work with me so I didn't need a 10' roll.

Well done. Wife doesn't want anything on the decks and it's killing me. I would love that on my boat

Funny, cause the wife wanted this she was tired of soggy Berber cockpit carpet so we removed it. But the deck is hard on your feet and slippery when wet. We saw this on another members boat and loved it supposedly it dries very fast and the backing is a different product than what we all have on the standard carpet. We'll see

my wife likes the "non slip" deck. it is killing me to keep it clean, i scrub it constantly and am happy with it and then someone wears flip flops and i start all over again. the main problem is we are very close to the ramp at our dock (3rd boat from the sea wall) so there is no time to get all the crap off of the flip flops before stepping onto the boat. even if the flip flops are kicked off onto the swim platform, everyone still brings dirt onto the boat. I am slowly becoming the no shoes nazi i didn't want to be. I feel like i should have a "dip feet here" bucket on the platform to make everyone wash their feet off first.

can you take some more pictures of the new flooring so i can show her and maybe this will entice her? hopefully this winter i will have the time to replace the carpet in the cabin with hardwood or a look-a-like and that will show her how nice it can be.

You need one of these, I had made up , I will take pics as soon as the boat is clean.

Fly"n Family, I am ordering the desert sand berber and would like your opinion of how plush or soft it is and did you snap it down or does it lay down fine by itself or shift any.

To be honest, I don't have much to compare it to as our boat had nothing before. In comparing it to some other swatches from different mfg's, it seemed fairly middle of the road. Not the plushest/softest - I would say more in the middle of the spectrum. It has a solid feel to it, yet provides very nice cushioning at the same time. We felt it was the right combination of durability and cushion for what we were looking for, and have been very pleased with it.

I think I'm checking on the boat later today, will take some pics if I do.

Joe, has it been rained on yet? Do you know if it dries quick?
