I am replacing my carb with a new 1410 Edlebrock carb with an electric choke
I was told I have to run a wire from the ignion (sp) switch to the choke.
anyone know which wire I should use at the switch?
is it one that is "hot" when the key is in the "on" postion or when the key is turned all the way to start the motor?
Thanks.

i am pretty sure you want the power source to be 'switched'....in other words only active when the ignition switch is in the 'start' position which is clockwise from the neutral key position.....there is no reason to have the choke activate when the key is in the 'accessory' position which is counterclockwise from the neutral key position....you also do not want to have a constant power supply because this would put a drain on the battery when the ignition switch is turned off....

You want the choke so that it is wired to the on position. The choke will not operate properly if wired to the start position (it will never come off full choke)

you're right...i meant the same thing but you stated it better than i did....the 'on' position is the first key position clockwise from the neutral key position....the 'start' position is the spring loaded position in the ignition....the choke wire should be wired to ignition terminal that is active when the key is in the 'on' position.....
