New Canvases- Winter Project a Success

Steve,

Great job and you have to feel great about the quality of the finished product and the money you saved.

I wish I had the guts to tackle a project of this size - it could be rather intimidating.

Looks very nice. I didn't have good luck with strataglass. The stuff seems to be sensitive to chemicals and I'm next to a coal plant and the acid just killed it in 2 years.... I have Makrolon now and it handles the chemicals (that's what a polycarbonate does) but it has issues with cracking. Mine doesn't have any cracking issues yet but I've heard people that have. No free lunch I guess... Actually, the plain old eisenglass stuff seems to hold up to chemicals well and doesn't crack.

As an FYI, my bridge was about 5K from the Boatswain locker guys (OEM who did the original).

I always wanted a sewing maching... so I'm a little envious... but I can't admit it because it seems a little girly.

When ever anyone asked what I was doing this weekend, I always said "working on my boat canvas" Never would I say sewing..... Its all in how it's worded.. One sounds manly, the other..... Not so much!

Cod, I'm very impressed. It looks really good. Nice work!
