Looking for some input and feed back. I am getting ready to order new canvas from Great Lakes Heres the issue I have. The teal color that is on the boat is no longer made. So I was thinking of going with black its the only color that I think would look good with the teal strip that is on the boat Let me know what you think

The only problem with black is that it's going to be really hot. You might be better getting a lighter color that will reflect the sun's rays.

What about a tan or gray?

Mike-

I would go with the black. its not like you are down near the equator where heat is a real issue.. My boat as all black on the skins fore and aft of the arch, as well as the black angled back shade. In the witer, the black is great to hepl keep things comfy.

When the back shade is off, there is so little black really exposed on the arch that it is a non issue with temps.. The black seems to be much more friendly to spider poop as apposed to the stock sand coler SR canvas.

I am probably going to get a camper canvas..which will also be black..

I through about the tan I just don't know how it would look A buddy of my had black canvas on his Silverton and it was not to bad as far as being hot

Good Luck. Great lakes is a good product. They would not engineer/build a capmer for me as they were never offered on boats above 30' from SR.

I may get them to do my cockpit cover though. If I can get a similar discount.

Good deal! I had my camper back redesigned from the Arch back, it cost me $1500. Is it Sunbrella?

Mike, can't say enough about how good it is deal with Great Lakes. I was wondering about the heat issue with black, but sounds like it may not be an issue for you. Keep us posted.

It is Sumbrella It is a complete replacement for what is on the boat now so fit should not be an issue There are a few things I was thinking of charging if I had it custom made but for the price I would forget about them

All of my boats have always had black to dark navy. You do notice more than if it was white but going from the teal you have now to the black you will see little to no difference. For me I would deal with a 2 or 3 degree heat difference for the look of black!

In my opinion the only other color that would look good on the the boat with teal on it is black or dark gray.

We have navy blue and it gets REAL hot in the summer time. We're up north, so we probably get more direct sun in July than folks farther south. When it's in the 90's you can feel the heat radiating off the Sunbrella. When it's that hot, we know it's time to go for a dip in the water to cool off. We usually throw our towels over it to dry them and that blocks a lot of the heat and cools it down significantly.

Great Lakes does not have the teal that is on the boat and can no longer get it The only teal they have is to green

Mine is black. I haven't noticed it being any hotter than my previous boat which had tan canvass.
It does however look nicer and does not show the dirt or whatever falls from the sky as much.

I live south of you in NC, a hotter climate than yours. The 260 I had had black on it and it was no problem. A little hotter, yes but not 15-20 degrees hotter. My current 340 had tan when we bought it and switched it to captains navy which is very dark, in June. I never noticed a difference in temps. When its hot, its hot. When its cold, its cold, color seems to make little difference. Get the black, tan would look like crap on teal.

Go Black. It will look good and don't worry about the heat. It won't be any different than the teal is now.

I've got the black canvas here and in our Texas summer heat of 105 degrees, the black canvas is as cool as the tan canvas on other boats. Plus it looks great and hides the spider poop well. Go with black...
