Looking at the newer searay yachts and they seem to use laminate or real wood flooring in the interior of their yacht lines.
I want to modernize my interior as well. Has anyone done similar and if so what product did you use? Not a fan of the old teak/holly look, it looks like modern sleek yachts are going cleaner look in their wood floors as well.

Can I just use any engineered floor on 3/8 plywood subfloor? Preferred install method? Glue down?

I redid my galley and laundry room floor this past month...the floor was a gray sea ray original vinyl floor. I looked into everything out there that was available ... and decided on a 5mm. vinyl floor product from Lumber Luquidators. Reasons, the floor has a very light groove pattern in it so it is good with wet feet. The wood look is very realistic and complements my existing interior well. If it gets wet it wont expand. Also, my floor in each room has a slight lip on a couple of corners, and this was a product that would bend with a heat gun. The flooring slats click together and are not meant to be glued, so the only place I glued them was at the perimeter of each of the infloor hatch areas so that the floor didnt rise evrytime I lifted a hatch. I made a heavy constuction paper template of the floor and precut the flooring with an inch extra all around. Then started at one end and did a fine cut with a multitool where it needed it...and it actually didnt need much tweaking. I can take a few pics this weekend if it would help....
Good luck, Jeff

I replaced the Galley floor with engineered Cheery wood that I ordered through Lowes. The 28SF box of wood if I recall was about $260.00 and we glued it done. The process took about 40 man hours and was a bitc- to say the least as there wasn't a straight cut anyware and all the rounded, tapered corners and transittions were done by hand. It looks great and I'm extremely have with the outcome. I'll post pictures if someone can tell me how to do it?

So far I'm looking at Amtico birch. I think light clean color will brighten up the interior nicely.

Premium wood style vinyl floor they use in new Hatteras, Ocean yachts. Supposed to be awesome stuff in Boats, not made in China vinyl stuff they sell at HD.
Cost is around $7-8 per Sq ft.

I wasn't sure what Sea Ray was using in their new yachts, called the local dealer and they were clueless.
800-SRBOATS is useless as it tells you to send them an email, lowly owners can't talk to a human being at the factory I guess.

I redid my entire interior with 3/4" solid Brazilian teak. glued it down. going on my third season with it, and I love it!!!!

I put maple in my 360 about a year ago. It was a royal pain, but looks great and is holding up well so far. I'll try to put some pics on here.
