Well I picked up a 1991 Sea Ray 200 bow rider.

Any way it appears it has no hour meter just as the guy told me. I learned that they were an option to have on the dash but that is one on the breaker box for the bilge. However this one does in fact not have one. It has the wiring and cap were it would go. So what now? Can you guys with lots of boating experience give me a clue of what to check, replace, change etc. on the motor and out drive? What about the trailer? I assume bearings, brakes, etc.
She is real clean and, it appears well cared for but I have no maintenance records or history. We are taking her out to test her this weekend on the river with a friend of mine who is a long time boater. Wish me luck and thanks.

I had the same deal with mine. I just installed an hour meter myself.I like the idea of having it in the bilge.I put mine on the dash, but its not necessary to have it there.Just hook it up to 12v when the key is in the run position.West marine has them for $45 on page 430.AS far as how many hours you have on it now, the only thing you can do is average out the hours for each year and add them up. Edumacated guess.

As far as maintenance goes, I would make sure the bellows are in good shape, and have the exhaust manifolds checked out by someone qualified. These two areas can cause major headaches if they are overlooked.I change outdrive oil, engine oil, fuel filters once a year, but i only run about 150hrs a year.Congrats on your boat----Ron

Well we took her out today. She rang STRONG and smooth. Only one problem, the alternator is kaput. The volts only read about 11 or so. So we brought her back in after running about for a bit.
