New boat, new stuff

We are now the proud(and a bit scared) owners of a 2006 Sundancer 340. Big upgrade from our 1993 240 Overnighter.
So we are going through the boat and investigating all the stuff leftover from the previous owners and found this. Look like some kind of bulkhead but now sure where it goes. Seems to be in great condition with newish carpet, but can't figure out what is for or where it goes.

Any ideas?

That goes under the v-berth that covers the hvac unit and provides storage for the galley tabletop.

Thanks for the reply, looks like we have the same boat! Wonder why they left it in the aft cabin like that...
I was also wonder where the galley table storage was, now I know!

If you are by yourself, getting that piece back in place can be a challenge - especially with the mattress resting on your head. while it's out, go ahead and clean the hvac filter and check the condensation pan. Any other questions, ask away -no need to reinvent the wheel.
