In the past this group has given me some great feedback on questions. I think I finally have a name for the new boat (pitured below). Indigo, it has a cool ring to it and fits with the color of the boat. it may look something this with some cool graphic next to it. Like it love it/ hate it. I appreciate the feedback
Indigo

I like it to, and I think your right...the name will be perfect for that particular boat. Go for it.

Thanks all, I think it has a nice ring also and if I wanted to put a twist on it... In~di~go as in in it to go.

Really like the name but, Indigo is a Canadian book store. Is this a possible trade mark violation? Don't want to discourage you, but something to think about or possibly check on.

It's not a trademark infringement because his use is different.

For example, you couldn't open a McDonalds hamburger restaurant but you could open a McDonalds car dealership.

I would keep you letters together IMHO.

I can't argue with that logic.

I agree with keeping the letters together... I like the name, but i think the artwork here is critical to giving it meaning. With the font you posted, I see the artwork being a bit more on the elegant side like two martini glasses (if you like those things)...

Best of luck

Indigo is a color. There's no trademark on that. If I named my next boat BLUE, Patsy Cline's estate won't sue me.

There was a Jewelry store in Toronto and their name was Diamonds are Us. They had the name long before Toys r Us was even thought of. When Toys r Us found out about them they sued the jeweler. Because the jeweler never registered the name and even though his was an are not a r his lawyer recommended he change the name of his store, he would most likely lose in court.

I doubt a book store would care about the name on a boat but stranger things have happened.

Many years ago I started a computer store in Ontario the name I picked was Computer City the reason for the name was Tandy never registered the name in Canada. Many years later Tandy was getting ready to open computer stores in Canada under the name Computer City one month before the opening my lawyer had words with them. Sure cost them a lot of money to open their stores here and use that name.

I agree, stranger things have happened. I have had to deal with registered trademarks in the past and was only giving the guy a "heads up" . I never stated it was a trademark violation I just said it could be. I can say this for certain though, there is tons of litigation happening as we speak involving intellectual property. Again, only throwing out a word of caution. I do really like the name though.
