Bought a 93 220bowrider, needed some tlc but got a good deal and with a little elbow grease, it's shaping up nicely...

Day I brought it home...

de-badged and de-striped...a lot of work!

Oxidized... Even with several coats of rubbing compound. Little did I know my random orbital wasn't doing anything...

After two sessions of compounding with a rotary buffer, two coats of a finer compound/wax mix and a sealer carnauba final...

Topside was more oxidized, I stopped compounding just under the first mount of the grab rail for a before and after...

Brian,

She's looking great and I too hope you have tons of fun with her!

Brian,
real nice job. What did you use to get those seats looking so good? Best of luck with her!

Brian she came out great you brought her back to life. The first Sea Ray I operated was a 95' 185 bow rider identical to yours. Best of luck

Nice job. Nothing better than sweat equity.

Nice job! It is a shame how some people can just let a boat die like that though...

VERY NICE
if mine turns out half that shiny I will be a happy boater

Very nice. Hard work pays off!

It would be a good idea to get another coat of wax on at least the topside. That gelocat is going to soak up the wax and it'll need some more real soon.

Another tip... for that seam that's ripping. Google "VLP Vinyl Repair". It's about $5 and I've used this MANY times. It's not going to compare to having it professionally done, but if you're patient it turns out very nice. Use tape to pull the seam back together and don't try to do the whole seam at once. Check the other seams while you're at it - put a few drops anywhere it looks like they're starting to separate - it'll stop it before it happens.

Nice boat.

Looks good. I have a 1994. Great boat!! You are going to like it.

Did I see thru hull exhaust in one pic? What engine does it have? How fast does it go?

Thanks everyone! For seats I used, spray-nine and a magic eraser. I've got two seams that have separated so I'll look that stuff you suggested! It has the corsa captains call exhaust on it with a new 80 hr 350 (5.7L) in it. I have some videos of it, but I gotta figure out how to get them off my phone.

Beautiful! You followed the path I took with my '95 175. The boat had weeds growing around it with a collapsed blue tarp covering it. Moldy and mildewed, he was going to donate it if someone didn't purchase it soon. But it ran great. So I undercut his offer steeply and he accepted. I spent a couple of months going over it and cleaning it up before it hit the water (link in signature).

And now 6 years later, she still looks beautiful and is ready to sell! I guess I got bored of not having anything to do to her, so I upgraded... :smt001

In a couple years when the kids are ready to wakeboard, I'd like to purchase a boat in your year and size to mess around with. Good job!

Very nice boat! Excellent job of getting her into shape. I must say, she looks like a boat I have seen around somewhere. Can't quite figure out where. Oh...yeah, now I remember. Anyway, great job on a great boat.

More pics of ours at the link!

Happy Boating!
