Today we had our first soaking rain since our new 260 DA has been in the water, and after about 3hrs we noticed that the starboard V birth cushion was soaked. It doesn't appear to be coming from the hatch or the windows...it looks like the source is about the level of the rub rail. Could it be that it's not sealed well?
Thoughts from anyone???

could be that, but not likely. Maybe bow rail screw, but doubt it would soak the cushion. Those leaks usually go to the bilge. hmm. Most likely source would be that hatch. Check and see if there is any signs of water in the tracks of the screen.

I didn't see any moisture any where aroud the hatch. And no water higher than the level of the rub rail (that we can see).

Doesn't the factory do a leak test???

On the 260 the bow rail through bolts are inside the freeboard and capped in the headliner with some big button caps. A leak there could possible roll down the headliner and makes it way inside at the top of the shelf (a la rub rail level). I had a leak in my rub rail, port side over galley. It showed up on the top shelf over Micro, behind electric panel and ultimatley filled the bilge area under the step where the shower drain and emergency pump is. It very well could be the rub rail. Mine had separated at the seem where the hull and top deck connect (behind the rub rail) I could visual "see" it by looking under the rub rail and the gap between rub rail and hull was about a 1/2". So give it a close visual look on the outside and look for any noticeable inconsistencies in the gap along the rub rail, top and bottom.

Thank you. MM is sending a mechanic next week to inspect it.
And what about mold/mildew after this is resolved??
Bummer.
