Thinking of moving my boat to tneGrand Marina. Anyone on on this site every visit there or currently docked there. Looks nice and lots of stuff to do. They have a nice slip for 319 month low-power. You Can also buy a slip but with property taxes and HOA dues not sure that makes much sense..

Curious to see responses also. May be relocating to that area in 3 years from Ohio.

Andy, what happened to Myrtle Beach? any way New Bern is very nice, fresh water etc. Downtown is full of old bars and places to eat. Let us know, we would be interested in coming to visit, day ride on the boat, a couple hours by car.

I had my boat for six month at The Galley Stores and Marina. We enjoyed deeply. There is a lot to do there. During some festivities the bridge remains closed so water access to The Grand Marina could be limited. At The Galley I could park my truck next to my boat. Parsimmons Restaurant is a plus. The negative is that it gets pretty choppy with SW winds over 10 MPH. They have fuel and pump out right on the spot, no need to move it for services. It was perfect for the winter. I'm looking forward to bring it back to New Bern in the near future.

I live in New Bern. I keep my boat at a local yacht club, but know the New Bern Grand Marina and have stayed there overnight for events, etc. It is well-run, convenient to shops and restaurants downtown, and marina guests can have pool privileges at the hotel if they choose. They also have a very good dockmaster and staff there now. Located adjacent to a no wake zone between two bridges, so very little wake action, especially behind the breakwater. The Bridgepoint Marina across from the Grand is also nice, but not as convenient for walking downtown.

One of the companies I worked for had a plant in New Bern. I always stayed at the hotel next to the Grand Marina when I visited. Beautiful place and calm water. Love downtown New Bern and all the old restaurants and bars. Miss the place. I would move there in a heart beat if I had a reason.
