Was tired of looking at the rust stained white PVC jacketed lower lifelines so I decided to upgrade.
Took down old lifelines and measured pin to pin overall length. Realizing the aft turnbuckles were redundant I took them out of my measurement for the new ones.
I made new ones out of .316 1x19 Stainless wire rigging. On the aft end I had swaged on a toggle jaw and on the forward end a 1/4-28 threaded stud (and re-used stainless turnbuckle).
In one of my former lives I was a marine surveyor/sailboat rigger and I remembered the superior holding and finish of a rotary swage vs a hand cranked swage so I specified rotary swaging.
Boat looks updated and being this is .316 all around, I will never have to replace again.
