what year 310 you looking for??? 98??/

we realy like our 310 with I/O.
after reading about the economy, dinking with props, access to work on and top speed problems some of the guys seem to have with the vee drives, i think we make the proper choice for us.not sure if these are because of the small blocks or vee drives.
are you talking about the 310 with the back and front birth split by the head with two doors on each side of the head. they only made it one year and i was thinking it was "99" but could have been "98"

Its the 98 like we have. To my knowledge it is the only boat SR every made under a 360 that had a privacy door in the cabin. thats what attracted me to this model. A curtain is no where near the sound and privacy protection as a real door.

When it is time to upgrade, I will look at the 360 and above for this resaon.

Like yourself, I like the extra room the I/Os give in the ER and easy access to everything on the front of the engines and the genny. I have a friend with a 310 with V drives and he pays through the nose to get it serviced as it is soo hard to access components and his labor hours are quite high.

Just repowered mine, so it may last me my boating lifetime as we love the layout.

If you are using if in salt water, v-drives is the way to go. They don't take as much of a beating as the mercruiser io's. You can also look at the 98-2001 290. It has a similar cabin lay out with the privacy door. Not quite as wide as the 310.
