New 240 SunDeck with water leak, what sould I do?

Brian
what did they find the problem to be? I have heard of a recall for several months of 2008 models due to hull engine cut out.

Very interesting 1st post. Just who did you hear this from?

Marine Max is a Joke. I live north of Houston and they recently closed the location nearest to me. I was so GLAD to see them go. Sure MM has other locations in town, but the North one made such a bad impression I will never set foot in a MM again. Last time I took the boat for service I drove it 3 hours to Sail & Ski in Austin (top notch service). I think it's BS that Y'all accept MM sorry service and just chalk it up as the industry standard. I have owned several boats up to 40' and have never experenced or been treated like I was at MM. I spoke to Sea Ray customer service about them and I believe that Searay needs another dealer in Houston. I enjoy my Sea Ray, but I do believe there are other manufactures that are equal for the same price. That being said I would highly consider one of them...other than the fact that Sail and Ski has been so good to me(I'll buy my next boat from them).

Tell me what other industry do you spend 75K+ and treated like do do the next day! I don't feel entitled to special service, just fair honest service. If anyone has any questions about my experience PM me and I'll explain

Rant Over

Sorry I never did update the status of the repairs for the water leak.Last July after they removed the Stern-drive and replaced the seals.I did not get a itemized list of items replaced. The water leak for the most part was resolved.I did notice a leak on the starboard still. So when I had the boat on the wash rack I found that the starboard trim tab was not flush against the transom.I removed the trim tab and resealed it with 4200.( Side note.)When we first took delivery of the boat we had some trim tab issues.First off I did not read the manuals like I should have and we were not instructed on the proper use of the trim tabs.So I had the tabs in the down position when the boat was lifted out of the water the first weekend we it.MM took care of the damage and replaced my mangled trim tabs. After resealing the starboard side trim tab my water leak issues have be resolved.I would like to say that the serviced team at MM ended up doing what ever it took to repair my leaks and they handled my crappy attitude in a very professional manner

I did contact SeaRay about the recall and it did not apply to my boat.

Brian,

I understand all of the advice to be patient, and it sounds to me like you have been.

One question? Have they cashed your check? Would they have been patient if it bounced, would they have allowed you weeks to make it right? You need to escalate the issue to the owner or to SR.

They should not be allowed to sell 1 more boat until yours it right.

My issues have been solved and they were on top of it from the start.I was just so angry I did not see the progress. They always had my boat back to the marina on Friday so I could use the boat on the weekend. Then on Monday they would take it back and continue to diag the problems. It has now been over year since my last major issue and I am more than satisified with my boat.
