Never Forget

I will NEVER forget. Seems like yesterday in many ways. We have an 8' American flag I fly every holiday and 9/11. I will never forget.

Never forget - I lost friends and family that day.
Fly the American flag always, never comes down from the house or boat. I have another one on the inside of my garage door just in case I have a memory lapse.

I was on 395 when flight 77 hit the pentagon. I will never forget the black smoke that could be seen ten miles away.

A study reported on WTOP today said that less than 10% of generation z and millennials consider the 911 attacks a significant event that affected their lives. Those poor kids have no idea how good we had it before 911. If they did we would have a different political situation.

I think everyone can remember where they were that fateful day when they heard. I remember such absolute Disbelief. We lives in the mighty US, nobody attacks us. Those days are gone. Ignorance is no longer bliss. Law enforcement and the military are more important than ever. Law enforcement today is especially difficult, I’m thankful for the brave Officers doing the best job they can. God Bless America!

I have visited the memorial in Somerset. Very surreal.
And that plane likely flew right over my house that morning. I had worked 4-12 and was sitting on my couch watching TV. Wife was in the bathroom getting ready for work. After the first plane hit they were saying possibly a small plane. Yelled in to my wife about it. After the 2nd plane hit I went and got my kids from school. My mother-in-law was at the dealership signing papers for her new car when they hit.

I separated from the USAF June 30, 2001. I was doing a root canal on (I DO remember the guys name) when the 1st plane hit. I was in Richmond Va at the time, about 1/2 mile from the Richmond airport. My wife was 8 1/2 months pregnant. When the 2nd plane hit, I sent the staff home with warnings. They didn't get it. I said once is an accident, twice is on purpose. And, the planes were coming South. We could be in the danger zone as planes were coming South. One of my Assistants mother was supposed to be in the World Trade Center that morning so she was obviously freaked. The skies were filled with planes as the National Guard sent up planes from Richmond, and the AF and Navy had jets up from Va Beach bases. At that moment, I would have sworn we were going to war and figured I was going back on active duty (just a dentist, nothing fancy).
