Network Lighthouse II and III together?

I see value in the new Doppler radar units, even for running in a confined lake where we boat. There is a post on CSR about almost running over some fishermen out at night, no lights. A dock mate almost ran over a guy in a jon boat at 11:30 pm with no lights on as well.

I have a 12" aSeries running Lighthouse II, but to get the newer Doppler radar, I need Lighthouse III. I don't see why I couldn't add a 7" Axiom and network the 2 together. I have a space on my dash that might be a good fit.

Anybody successfully mix these 2 operating systems together?

I spoke with people at the Atlantic boat show about that earlier this year. I was told that it would not be possible with the Axiom Series. The aSeries from what I was told was not powerful enough to run Lighthouse III software. I have an a127. From what I understood, chart plotters running Lighthouse II can't share information properly with those running Lighthouse III

That is my understanding as well. But I think you can share NMEA data and just use the axiom for the radar and back up plotter.
