Need Opinion on 1986-89 39' Express

Looking for a bigger boat for the family. I have always loved this boat and want your opinion for Great Lakes boating. We want to go on trips and spend the summers on the water. Was this a well-made boat?

I had an 89 390 for 8 years. Its a great boat. Good cabin layout and great head and shower. Just a few comments though. There is a built in 13" tv which would be useless today. Also the helm seat is on top of the starboad engine. You will notice more engine noise and vibration. If you could find one with 375 cat diesels that would be great. Boat needs the right props. It is tail heavy when full of fuel. But once it planes out is has a great running attitude.

I really like mine, it's roomy with a big fridge. hopefully you'll get auto pilot, radar and generator. The hull seems solid, planes out with ease

...and looking at your signature pic...you do not need cement blocks to keep it on land :grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
