My 2002 310 has three batteries. I believe one is for the port engine which is wired by itself, and the other two are connected together and are for the stbd engine and 12v electrical system. My question is, since there are 3 batteries, but two are together and one is separate, do I need a 3 bank charger or 2 bank? Also, any suggestions on chargers is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

2 bank, assuming there is not a separate generator battery.

All you need is the 2 bank charger. Get one that does all types of batteries... wet, gel, and AGM

Do you have future aspirations of changing the number of batteries or how they're arranged? So although you NEED a 2 bank, might you WANT a 3 bank? (I have a 3 bank, with one bank free/available right now, and long term thoughts of isolating generator and or starboard engine and possibly some other changes.)

Also, ProMariner has provided excellent technical support/customer service for my oldie but goodie charger and has offered discounted pricing on purchasing a new one. I suggest putting them on your consideration list.

ProMariner is great-price and customer service. You need 2-banks now which is what I needed. I went with the 1240P from ProMariner. It is a 40amp, 3-bank charger. I only used 2-banks and have an extra if needed later.

+1 on that!!

I studied this and I got the Xantrex It instructions saidto wire each battery with a lead. 3 batteries 3 bank charger.

I would suggest a 3-bank that may have higher output than a 2-bank. This would allow for more output to the house bank, which that output going through 2 sets of leads, rather than one of you go with a 2 bank.
