I have a have '05 240 Select and have a small tear, I want to have repaired. Meaning I want to have the entire piece that is torn replaced and not patched. That said does anyone know where I can pick up the correct searay vinyl color. I know there's the option to have a vinyl interior shop try and match it. But would feel better locating the actual correct color. I called SeaRay and was told after 10 years parts are no longer available. So hoping someone knows 1) what color is this considered and 2) suggestions where to find the vinyl. I attached pics. Thanks

That looks like the Nickel colored vinyl.
It’s been discontinued long ago.
Bristol upholstery in Connecticut has a reproduction. They’ll send you a free sample. The color is a good match but the texture is different.

I had 16 yards of it 2 years ago but used it to reupholster my boat and a few other assorted cushions. Nothing but scraps left.

A good vinyl repair tech can make that pretty much disappear. There's chains, such as dr. vinyl and others... also check with local car dealerships and see who they use.

I just did the search in google. I didn't go into details because I'm not really sure of the color from the photos. I have yet to step in one of these new fangled boats with the fancy colors other than white, red, green or blue. So I put out the links for the OP to do their research.

Personally, I have repaired a lot of vinyl. And I have seen colors so close, only a good eyed woman could tell (proven, women have a better range of color than men).

I figured this will be like looking for a needle in a hay stack. Its unfortunate that you can't find out by the hull # all the details such as interior colors as you could with a car vin #. I'll try some of these websites and may be get lucky.
Thanks for the suggestions.

The aftermarket in boating for things like this just isn't lucrative enough to set something like this up. However, you should be able to find the part number for that "skin" in your parts manual. It's an internal number for Sea Ray so it may or may not help in googling like it does in the automotive world - but sometimes you get lucky.

You contacted "Sea Ray" or a dealer? If you reach out to Sea Ray, they can usually provide you with the manufacturer and more info. It may have been made by Morbern, though.

With the HIN you can contact Sea Ray and they can pull the full build sheet for that boat and let you know what was used. But more than likely, as @Espos4 commented, when they you the material and color you will find that it is no longer available.

For something small like this tear I would hunt down a vinyl repair shop as @Lazy Daze. The repair is fairly straight forward the magic is in the matching of the color and texture. One the other hand the removal of this piece and disassembly is very time consuming and the potential for not being able to sew in a just a new small piece is highly likely and that may lead to an even larger project.

When you say scraps, whats then largest piece you have?

A couple of 10”x10” pieces and some strips. Sorry, saving them for myself in case I ever need it.

Totally understand, thanks for the advice and suggestions.

After 16 years of sun exposure, even if you found the exact part its unlikely it would match anyway. A vinyl repair shop that can fix the tear might be the best bet.

Actually the boat was kept in a boatel and is in extremely good condition in and out. Interior has no fading and few blemishes surprisingly. The vinyl is very plyable as well. Thank you for the feedback ,much appreciated.

F9AD7E88-3F11-422B-970D-05C2606E9987.jpeg This is the only nickel vinyl that Bristol upholstery has now, the color is similar but the texture is much different. Your vinyl looks more of a platinum to me but it’s hard to tell from pictures. I had ordered a few yards of the flat nickel vinyl from them to make a missing cushion but it turned out my 04 270 sundeck didn’t have the nickel. I ended up bringing a sample in to them snd they must have spent an hour showing me all around until we found a perfect match. It’s a small family owned business with a huge selection of different oem and discontinued vinyl, I can’t recommend them enough. If you can cut a small piece from the bottom of a cushion or the back of a panel just send it in and they will try and match it for you.

Thanks I had them send a sample of the flat nickel and its not a good match. If I want to the distance and repair the entire panel I guess I'll have to try and cut a piece of excess off of mine and send it or take mychances with the 3M vinyl repair kit.

I wanted to repost this again in hopes that possibly a new member may have access to the original vinyl. I have removed the piece after winterizing the boat hoping to repair or recover. I've been to a upolstry shop and they have a color thats close but not exact.

Did you try doing what we suggested above about contacting Sea Ray? And did you see my comment about who the manufacturer might be? And/or talk with a vinyl repair company as mentioned above?

Remove the subject vinyl and modify both ends by stitching on contrasting pieces and reinstall so that it looks factory.

I reached out to SeaRay, see the response below , I'm a bit disappointed that someone from SeaRay can't reach out to the supplier and ask if they have the vinyl tucked away somewhere and let me know if I have a fighting chance. I'm not hopeful I'll find any in the correct pattern. I will reach out to Marine Connection. I'm not going to hold my breath though.
I'm going to call my local SeaRay dealer and see if they can reach out to the supplier.

Good afternoon
Our suppliers only work with our buyers, they do not sell direct, you will need to source locally, one place you can try is Marine connection liquidators in Ft, Pierce Fl. they purchased allot of vinyl form the plants, nothing this old but they may have something you want to convert to,
