Need help with issues I’m having in the engine room. I’ve been on here several times regarding some problems I’m having with either my transmissions or shaft seals/bearings. Since I’ve owned the boat I am getting a sporadic alarm (more of a faint beep) when I shift the transmissions either from reverse or forward into neutral usually after running for some time. This year on two occasions while powering in reverse I’ve experienced significant vibration in my starboard motor. Again, this has only happened twice and it was months in between occurrences.
This past Saturday as I was backing into location to tie up, I had to power in due to the wind when all the sudden alarms from the engine room activated and the motors shut down. I was able to restart the motors with no issue but then when I put her into gear, it sounded like the transmissions were slipping and I was getting no propulsion either in reverse or forward. After I tied up and waited a few minutes I started the motors back up and put her into gear but this time there were no alarms and I was able to get propulsion from both motors in forward and reverse. Later that evening I made the trip back to the marina and parked her with no issues.
Although the transmission fluid has not been changed since I have owned the boat the level and quality is fine, no leaks anywhere etc…… I did check the water supply to the starboard shaft seal but was only able to pull and check the cross water supply and there was plenty of water flow. There is no dripping from the seals when underway. When I experienced the last vibration I quickly pulled the hatch to inspect things specifically the seals and did notice following to the vibration, the starboard seal was dripping but has not since then.
I hope this makes sense and I need advice as to where to turn now before I have to pull the boat and drop a few thousand for a tech to diagnose this problem. It just puzzles me that it only happens intermittently but the two times I have experienced the vibration, it was downright frightening.
I have also checked the running gear underneath and have found nothing out of the ordinary.

Only one post is needed, more likely to get the replies that you want w/o multi posting!

Oh, and spelling need correctly once out of three tries doesnt help either!

Possibly low gear oil? Clogged transmission..
