Need help picking a song

[Presentation]

I’m going to be making a series of short videos with my kids as the hosts as we document our boating adventures.

To help give you an idea of what I am looking at doing here is a similar video series someone else is making:

I’m looking for a theme song.

I’m looking for a song that is kid friendly and captures the spirit of boating, adventure and exploration.

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Alan Jackson sang a pretty cool song at Aquapalooza. I can't remember the name of the song, but it was something about reminiscing and remembering back to boating with his dad or grandpa. Something like that.

Son of a Son of a Sailor is a great song, too!

Just one song? I'd make different segments with different songs.

For a segment with lots of family shots, Van Halen's "Why Can't This Be Love" would be a great tune.

I may interject different songs in the middle but what I’m looking for here is the theme song, the type I would put at the start and end of every episode.

Kid Rock’s song would not fit for a boating kid’s video due to the references of sex & drugs.
I thank everyone for the suggestions. I have checked out ever song suggested.

It will not be the full song, say 10 seconds at the start and end of 5 minuites short videos.

It's got a funky little beat to it. Heck, you could probably throw any Miley Cyrus song on there and the kids would love it. Even if it doesn't have "boat" in it, as long as it's a happy song. I only listened to the first and last 20 seconds, or so, but the last couple lines are kinda "inspirational".

Did you think about asking them what some of their favorite songs are? If you're making it as a surprise, just do it on the sly.

Oh, C-Side: Yes, it was Drive. Thanks. I guess that's more of an adult song, though, as the kids don't really have all those memories, yet.

Main theme from Muppet's treasure island, I play it as loud as I can as the boat leaves the slip.

Great score! When I was a kid I had to listen to my Father playing Johnny Cash ( I walk the line ) over the loud speaker entering the harbor! :smt100
