I need Help installing Fish Finder on 1999 SeaRayder F16XR.

Any suggestions/recommendations on how to do that?

Anyone has an electrical diagram of this.

I already bought a Garmin Striker 4 for this.

I just need to figure out hoe to hook it up to power.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Thanks

I mounted mine to my dash, tapped a hole under the bracket as directed in instructions and ran the power and date cables below dash. Power wire went to an empty Aux fuse on the under dash fuse block. routed the data cable along the same route as the other dash and steering cables.

If you have a grounded fuse block at helm use that. Otherwise, use the inline fuse it should have come with and run back to the battery. Make sure the power wire is adequate gauge for the distanced and tinned copper marine wire if you are running power wire that was not included with the unit.

Thank you so much for the reply. My wiring is pretty basic. I don’t have a fuse block at all.

Did you look under the dash for the fuse block? There may be an extra slot you can use.

As far as the wiring goes, though, just follow the directions in the Garmin book - that's the "directions" that you want to follow. It's pretty simple, though... power and ground. If you end up hooking directly to a power source, then you'll use an inline fuse.

Installation of the head unit and the transducer are straight forward, as well - and there will be information in the Garmin book. You may need a RAM mount (google it) for the head unit if there isn't a good spot on the dash for the bracket.

I think most of your questions, if not all, will be answered by reading the owner's manual. Take a look at that and if you need clarification, just ask.

Quick hits... seal the transom core, use quality butt connectors - ideally shrink connectors or with shrink tube, use quality marine-rated wire, chamfer any holes you drill for screws to avoid contact with the gel.

Or... it's probably a 2 to 4 hour job for a pro for everything.
