need help-220 Sundeck-anyone have this problem?

Hey guys I had the same thing happen last weekend! ENGINE LOST COM I could get engine to restart but now nothing at all. The engine cranks but will not start. It's a 2012 240 sundeck with a 5.0

Thanks yes I do have the 300hp 350. I was playing with it this weekend. It doesn't do it at idle. Once in gear from 1200-2000rpm it will do it fairly consistently. The difference is at 1700-2000 the system will beep and display lost communication but the engine will shutoff momentarily but then catch itself before it completely dies. I seemed to have developed a exhaust leak also. It is going in on the 24th. It only has 73hrs on it.
Were you able to resolve the problem as my searay sundeck has similar situation dies failty regualr when idle with lost engine comm Doesnt stutter, just throws lost engine comm and dies, it seems to start after engine warms up and runs for 10 minutes then after warmed up it does it starts fine then after 45 seconds it loses engine comm and engine dies, will start right back up, recently changed out water pump and impeller, transducer, distributor oil change , water control unit, new batteries, have checked grounds and all connections checked and reseated.

Hi Michael,
I may have had and fixed the same problem... similar symptoms: My 2005 SD240 w/350 MAG MPI was stalling at idle. Was a real PITA when docking. I think that when the engine died the SC gauge would show a disconnected message, but I'm not 100%.

I tried swapping the IAC (Idle Air Control) with a cheap version from Amazon. This part both made the problem worse and had an extra spring inside the IAC. I cleaned the old one and reinstalled and the problem was improved, but not fixed.

I then replaced the IAC with a name brand IAC (8M0181068) ($209) and this completed fixed the problem.

Good luck!
