I know this is an old thread, but do you have the part number for the oil sending unit?
Need a little help with this one!!

The gauge package 1996 - ±1998? was not supplied by either Sea Ray or by Caterpillar. You can order a dozen from either or both companies and none will operate the dash gauges properly.
I think the gauge was supplied by Teleflex but the sender has to be matched to the impedance of the gauge and neither Cat's nor Sea Ray parts list does.
Call John Mass, who is the best parts man in the industry…..850-234- 6533; extension 23. John is an early bird and is usually at work by 7-7:15 central time. If he doesn't answer, leave a message. Tell him told you to try him……he is a friend and I am sure he will help and can order the right sender if he doesn't have on on the shelf. Before you call, look up your engine serial #'s,
AR#'s and both hull and production #'s from the stbd aft corner on the transom.
