Need 7.4mpi fuel pump $$$$$$

Need a new fuel pump, appears I can’t get an OEM one by itself, need to buy the whole fuel cooler kit which is 836$, seems absurd. Anyone have any other options?

Yes, just this part number. I found quite a few also but most people complaining that they are cheap Chinese made junk. Just took me a couple hours to get the whole cooler and pump assembly out, don’t want to put a new one in just for it to fail after 6 times of starting the boat

yea clearly. What hurts more is that this is going into my boat that I'm currently selling. I'd like not to dump a lot of money into it, but I also want it fixed correctly so the next person buys something reliable!

I just went through the same thing. Merc does not make or sell the fuel pump any longer. The original Merc pump was a Carter and I could not find that either. You have to get a knock off at this point. For what it's worth the one I just paid $25 for on ebay works fine. After installing, i put a fuel pressure guage on it and it met spec.

I don't know, but there is no Mercruiser pump option. The part number shows as NLA - no longer available. This applies to 807949A1 and 861156A1.
