NC man dies in SC tubing accident

Very sad how a fun day can turn very bad.

Sad thing is I've been on tubes with three guys playing king of the tube going 35-40mph without ever thinking about the rope snapping and killing someone.

I've always worried more about the rope breaking and snapping back at someone in the boat. Never really worried about anything happening to the rider. I have a tow rope that is now 6 years old that I think I will be replacing.

Aweful! Never heard of such. Would like to understand what exactly happened in order to try to prevent it.
